trivia: osteopathy (and chiropractic) helped to reduce the death rate during the Spanish flu epidemic in 1918.
There is a treatment sequence video of the techniques that were used. We would still do the same techniques today to treat any type of flu, not just the latest swine flu that is big news now. The idea is that by improving the functioning of the rib cage, we can improve respiration and the body's natural healing response.

Blogging - an old-fashioned form of personal communication circa late 1990s that was surpassed by social networking sites. See the fate of geocities.
So folks, there you have it. I've left the world of blogger for facebook and twitter. Anyhow, as this site still comes up on random google searches, I thought I'll leave this short update.
I'm now working in Singapore as an osteopath at Osteopathic Healthcare in Buona Vista. Osteopathy is a form of manual medicine that helps the body get better naturally and keeps people feeling better for longer. In particular, I've developed an interest in the biodynamic approach to osteopathy in the cranial field, which focuses on finding the health rather than the disease. It is extremely non-invasive when it comes to treating babies, children and those in ill health. In fact, I'm going off to Amsterdam in June for a short course on Biodynamics for children. Woohoo!
Melbourne's still really close to my heart, and I'm hoping to return some time in the future to work, play and kick ass (i.e. get my black belt).
And if anyone in Singapore is looking for really decent, well made lattes, try
highlander coffee
coffee culture at biopolis, where I work.
Highlander is open monday to saturday, coffee culture is only open weekdays.
