Bought a new laptop at the annual computer fair - looking at the line of cars waiting to get into the carpark you'd think singapore is a nation of geeks - either that or bargain hunters. It was the quickest sale I made, but as Johann pointed out, including the first trip we made, plus comparing brochures, we actually spent some time on it. Ended up with a $1100 Acer, dual core 1.46 ghz, 120gb hdd, 2.5gb ram, vista home premium, card reader, webcam but sadly no bluetooth. And to think I spent a week rigging up my phone to control my itunes on my desktop... sigh...
The house of Johann and Joe (and a few others) is a geek paradise - there are at least 15 computers in the house, plus a projection tv (for soccer and the xbox) and a massive 100 inch touchscreen that has to go to make way for... get this... the pool table.
edit 3/12: the advantage of a geek paradise is they have heaps of stuff, Reezan has kindly donated his old bluetooth dongle and let me install his original ms office, 2007 okay...
I think these computers have some form of life.... Johan thinks they are scared of him and work properly when he comes over to take a look. And I could never get the borrowed laptop to go into energy save mode and turn the screen off until I got the new one in.... almost seems like a case of laptop jealousy.
why wy?
