flying emirates is pretty cool - they have a camera pointed on the nose of the plane and on the belly. So, it's a clouds-eye view from your personal tv screen, which is good if you don't have a window seat. Best of all, they turn on the camera duing landing, and it was a night flight, so it was gorgeous seeing the runway lights geting closer and closer. And popular arabic music rocks, seriously. I also saw an arabic music video that looked like bollywood meets britney, her tits were threatening to pop out and poke her dancing partner in the eye. Which is a small shock to me, i thought arabic culture would be more conservative outwardly.

Spent the whole weekend clearing up the house and unpacking. Have reorganised the shelves and books slightly and am proudest of my new study desk in my room (on loan, thanks monica). It has become the ipod music corner and is loud enough to hear from the street (okay, my second-storey window faces the street).

My strange left shoulder pain is back again, it disappeared a week before I flew back to Singapore, and arrived the night before I flew to Melbourne. I hope isn't some psychosomatic reaction to this country, otherwise it is going to be a very painful four years, literally.

met up with lingam and brian, they say hi to those who know them, and they have a stunning apartment now with furniture from thailand.

and happy valentine's day guys, to the loved, the lovely and loveless.
